Spectro-Chrome Therapy (Part 1)

Inspired  (Being in-Spirit)

Many times throughout my life I have been inspired to buy or pick up a particular book, even if it's not meant for me to read until much later in my life. Usually it's a book mentioned or recommended by someone I've been listening to give a lecture, or in reading their book. I remember thinking I had to get this book the first time I heard or read about it, which was many years ago. So long ago I can't remember where I first heard of it.

After I purchased the book, I put it on the shelf to be read later. I always have an ongoing stack of books to read. Well, later ended up being at least fifteen years later. And again, just as I had been inspired to buy the book, I was inspired by someone else to actually pull it off the shelf and read it.

I had completely forgotten about this book until the summer of 2016,  during one of the structured water classes I had been attending for four years. The teacher, Clayton Nolte, brought up the subject of the energy of colors and mentioned the book Let There Be Light by Darius Dinshah. I thought to myself...OMG! I have that book! I bought it a long time ago! After the class I was going to pull it off the shelf, but I forgot about it and didn't. Again, at another class a few weeks later, Clayton brought up that book again. This time I went and found it on the shelf and set it on my desk. I was taking this as a sign I needed to read it! Now was the time.

This book is full of so much interesting information. What I discovered written inside was just amazing!  A real treasure. One of the subjects I had studied for my masters in Parapsychic Science was healing with color and light, but this was taking it to another level. This is the manual for Spectro-Chrome Therapy, a system of therapy using colored light, that was proven effective through years of use for a wide range of illnesses by the Senior Surgeon in a Philadelphia, PA hospital, as well as hundreds of other physicians and practitioners. In order to appreciate how Spectro-Chrome Therapy came about, it's important to understand some of the history behind it, which is amazing in and of itself.

What is it?

Spectro-Chrome Therapy is a system of therapy where light energy is processed through color filters and irradiated into the aura. The color filters are each specifically attuned to a certain window of frequencies. By matching corresponding wavelengths to the organs and systems of the body, it strengthens or calms energy in the distressed areas, creating a support system for balance and healing. Spectro-Chrome Therapy consists of twelve colors. The color filters used are either Roscolene (gel) filters or glass filters. I use the glass filters.

Some History

Chromotherapy is a centuries-old concept and method of treatment that uses the visible spectrum (colors) of electromagnetic radiation to successfully treat diseases.  The use of color dates back to 500 BC. The history of color medicine is as old as that of any other medicine. Phototherapy (light therapy) was practiced in ancient Egypt, Greece, China and India. The Egyptians utilized sunlight as well as color for healing.

The late 1800s brought the research and books The Principles of Light and Color (1878) by Dr. Edwin D. Babbitt, and Blue and Red Lights, or Light and its Rays as Medicine (1877) by Dr. Seth Pancoat. These men started the threads of knowledge that would later be woven into the complete fabic of Spectro-Chrome, established by a man named Dinshah.

The book Let There Be Light was written by Darius Dinshah, one of the sons of Dinshah P. Ghadiali (1873 - 1966). Dinshah Ghadiali preferred to be called by his first name which was easier for Americans to pronounce and he became widely known as Colonel Dinshah, or just Dinshah. Eventually his wife, son Darius, and his other nine children legally changed their last name to be Dinshah (instead of Ghadiali) to make life easier.

It's hard to talk about Spectro-Chrome Therapy without sharing some background on the man who developed, researched and taught it a hundred years ago. This guy was amazing.

Dinshah, born in Bombay, India in 1873, was a genius. He began high school at the age of eight. At the age of eleven he became assistant to the Professor of Mathematics and Science at Wilson College in Bombay. He was awarded prizes for proficiency in English, Persian, and religion. He eventually learned eight oriental and eight occidental languages, some of them fluently. At the age of 14 he conducted demonstrations in chemistry and physics at several educational institutions.

He studied medicine and also had his own business of installing electrical things like lights, doorbells, burglar alarms, etc. He also studied spiritual and scientific subjects and was initiated as a Fellow in the Theosophical Society. He was appointed Superintendent of Telephone and Telegraph for Dholpur State. He was an Electrical Engineer and a Mechanical Engineer.

In 1896 he made his first visit to the U.S., and met Thomas Edison, Nikola Tesla and other noted scientists. He gave lectures on x-rays and radioactivity. The New York Times and other newspapers termed him the "Parsee Edison".

In 1897 he returned to India and developed his medical practice. It was during this time that he applied chromopathy to a friend's niece who was dying and could not be helped from the then-accepted drugs. Dinshah had read about the theory of chromopathy in The Principles of Light and Color (1878) by Edwin D. Babbitt and another book on the subject written in 1877 by Dr. Seth Pancoast. Using this unorthodox healing method, in a matter of just a few days, he saved this near-fatal case of mucous colitis.

This was just the beginning, but it wasn’t until twenty-three years later before his scientific research culminated in the healing system he called Spectro-Chrome.
It was in 1900 when he established the "Electro-Medical Hall" at Ajmer, India, for healing by color, magneto-therapy, electro-therapy, suggesto-therapy, as well as orthodox medicine. (This sounds like a really cool place by today's standards and this was the year 1900!) The following year he opened another Electro-Medical Hall in another city in India and became known for his successful treatment of bubonic plague, and so-called incurable diseases.

In 1905 he was stricken with tuberculosis and given six months to live. He recovered his health by a rigorous regimen of work, physical training, no meat, no wine and less rest -- the opposite of what the medical consultant advised.

He started his own weekly newspaper Impartial, with his editorials exposing corrupt officials, which created an uproar. He was an inventor and traveled around Europe promoting his inventions. He developed the "Dinshah Automobile Engine Fault-Finder" and an "Anti-Forgery Electric Pen" and formed companies to market them. He was offered $100,000 for the "Fault-Finder" invention, but later donated it to the U.S. government for use on aircraft engines. He organized a corporation for the development of a sound-on-film, shutterless motion-picture projector and filed a patent on it.

In 1917 he was naturalized as a citizen of the U.S. A year later he received a commission as a Captain in the NY City Police Reserve. He joined the American Assoc. of Progressive Medicine.

A year after that, he was appointed Governor of the NY City Police Aviation School, later being commissioned Colonel and Commander of the NY Police Reserve Air Service. He flew the first police airmail and for his service to the city of NY, was awarded the Liberty Medal by the Mayor.

He served as VP of the Allied Medical Associations of America, and the National Assoc. of Drugless Practitioners.

It was 1920 when he completed his research and delivered his first lecture on Spectro-Chrome therapy and established The Spectro-Chrome Institute in NY City. The first class for training in the use of Spectro-Chrome began in December of that year with 27 in attendance. Over the next several years he eventually taught 100 classes to hundreds of people in the medical profession as well as laypersons, in cities from coast to coast. At one time nearly 500 U.S. medical doctors were using his Spectro-Chrome system.

For the second 46 years of his life, he lectured, wrote books, and taught classes on Spectro-Chrome and designed color equipment and accessories such as the Sympathometer, Itisometer, Spirometer, Antinude and Nurmand.

Sadly, he also spent the second half of his life defending himself and his work in numerous litigations brought on by claims that his Spectro-Chrome could not have any effect on disease, which he proved otherwise in court, with several lay and medical practitioners testifying for him. The FDA and the USDA brought suits against him in a handful of different cities. Some of the suits he lost, some he won. In the end, he paid fines ranging from $25 - $20,000, was put on probation, and ended up serving 18 months in jail. He was also ordered to dissociate himself from Spectro-Chrome, he had to surrender his books to be destroyed, with the exception of one set of his writings for his personal library. He had discovered and was teaching to others a healing modality that worked and healed people without the use of any drugs or side effects, and the powers that be were not going to have any of it.

In 1924 he acquired property in New Jersey which then became the Spectro-Chrome Institute headquarters. The following year he wrote the Spectro-Chrome Encyclopedia, which came to be known as an authoritative treatise on Color Therapy.

He ran as an independent candidate for Governor of NJ in 1937. In 1939 he made an around-the-world tour lecturing, and opened two offices in India for promoting Spectro-Chrome.

Still being given a hard time for his work, in 1941 his (U.S.) Institute's activities were severely hampered by an administrative procedure called a U.S. Post Office Fraud-Order in which the postmaster was ordered to return to the senders all the mail addressed to his address, with the stamped notation "Fraudulent". The order stands to this day!

A few years later he donated a fire engine and a siren to the Volunteer Fire Department in the city in which he lived. Ironically, the following year, a terrible fire destroyed the Institute's main building, despite the efforts of several fire battalions, and he lost all his scientific equipment, his library, files, and it rendered some of his books out-of-print. This also handicapped his defense in a couple of lawsuits just three months later. (He must have had a premonition about the fire!)

After completing his probation he organized another non-profit corporation and sold his Color Devices once again, only under a different name, and now with a warning that they had no curative or therapeutic value.

Five years later, the USDA obtained a permanent injunction against his Institute, preventing him from shipping his devices or books across state lines. Even some of his books unrelated to Spectro-Chrome were banned. (What happened to freedom of the press?) The court ruled that even though he had warning labels on his devices and books, because they lacked orthodox medical acceptance, the injunction still stands. (Give me a break!)

This injunction compelled Dinshah to limit most of his activities to New Jersey, the state in which he lived, and he sold a few devices, books and delivered a few lectures. He was forced into semi-retirement. He died eight years later, in 1966 at the age of 93.

After his death, three of his sons assumed the responsibilities of running the Institute. A new color projector was designed and marketed in New Jersey. After about nine years, it was decided that it was too difficult to continue working under the court injunction so that Institute was dissolved. Later that same year, in 1975, The Dinshah Health Society was registered as a non-profit corporation, "with the express aim of stimulating interest in, and promulgating knowledge of, lesser known methods of restoring and maintaining health," as stated by Darius in the book.

The manual for the color therapy was originally written in 1978 and then was later rewritten for more in depth instructions and explanations. Then it was updated and retitled as Let There Be Light. It was also translated into German.

The Present

The Dinshah Health Society is still going today and can be found online. I joined the Dinshah Health Society, read Let There Be Light (twice), watched six hours of video containing more in depth information about Spectro-Chrome, and also read most of the Spectro-Chrome Metry Encyclopedia, 6th Edition. (First edition 1933.) Fascinating stuff!

Between these two books, there are many case histories, court transcripts, even photographs of cases. There are a lot of testimonies from doctors including Dr. Kate Baldwin, the Senior Surgeon of 23 years at the Philadelphia Woman's Hospital. The healings that occurred over the years at several hospitals and clinics just using this therapy was phenomenal.

But as usual, when someone discovers or invents something -- especially if it's natural (and Big Pharma can't patent it) -- that helps heal people, one or more government agencies (the powers that be are on their way out) will do everything in their power to shut them down and keep the masses from finding out about it. The same thing that happened to Dinshah still goes on to this day. In fact, a good recent example of this same type of scenario is Dr. Burzynski in Houston, Texas and the Texas Medical Board. The TMB have kept him tied up in court for years, trying to take away his medical license and shut him down because he has actually been healing "incurable" brain cancers, and well, you know -- if he does that, then the TMB or the medical establishment in TX and elsewhere stands to lose money. You're not actually supposed to heal people! It's all about a money-making business and control, whereas Dr. Burzynski is about helping people heal. That's why he prevailed in the end. There is a documentary available about Dr. Burzynski that I recommend if you are interested. It's two DVDs: Burzynski - The Movie (2010) and Burzynski - Cancer is Serious Business Part II (2013).

So, it is no big surprise that if you do an internet search on Spectro-Chrome Therapy, you will find websites and even the popular Wikipedia still claiming that this is all quackery and pseudoscience! They claim the same about structured water and Indigos. Do you see the pattern here? The powers that be are on their way out will stop at nothing to prevent people from knowing the truth about the simple ways they can assist their body back into balance and well-being. After all, our bodies are amazing creations and are self-healing! But it's up to us to give the body what it needs so that it can do its job.

Dinshah was a brilliant man, way ahead of his time. He was about helping people heal too. And though he passed away over 50 years ago, his research and teachings of Spectro-Chrome Therapy still carry on to this day, available for those who wish to study and practice it, like myself. It's another amazing natural healing modality whose time has finally come.

I also did some research online to see if there was anyone currently writing about, practicing  or teaching Spectro-Chrome (S-C) Therapy. There were several places that sell the colored Roscolene filters (or gel slides) used in S-C, and then I found a woman on the west coast who actually makes the specially calibrated color glass slides for use in S-C. She is the supplier for and consultant to many countries around the world. On her website it stated that she began her investigation of color therapy at the age of 13 -- and 13 being my number 😀 -- I took it as a confirmation I was at the right place. For many years she traveled around the country teaching S-C and currently has an online course and newsletter. She also has available everything you need to practice S-C.

I already had the books, so I ordered all the equipment and supplies needed and I took her course in S-C Therapy.  I also read several more books that are available on healing with colored light, such as Color Medicine by Charles Klotsche, and How to Heal with Color by Ted Andrews.

The day I began using S-C, I walked outside and saw a rainbow. (Actual photo on right.) The book Let There Be Light has a rainbow on the cover. I took that as another good sign!

It was during the summer of 2016, I began using it on our dog who was 14 and experiencing different ailments. It seemed to help him and as a side effect, we noticed a benign growth he had on his elbow began to shrink in size. I treated him with S-C until he passed away on February 13th, 2017.

During the same time, I also had the opportunity to use S-C Therapy on a client's dog who I kept at our house for three weeks (which I don't normally do). He had a nerve sheath tumor on his hip. He had already had a few surgeries to remove previous nerve sheath tumors from the same area and another surgery was not recommended. They just keep returning.

His tumor went from being bald, the skin was taut, pink with dark pink in the middle (inflamed), when he arrived, to it shrinking some in size, the skin was drying, appeared to be healing up, not taut any more, and brown in color instead of pink and inflamed, and hair was growing on it when I took him home. My client noticed and commented on the definite improvement also. (See photos below - sorry, they aren't the greatest.)

Unfortunately, after he went home the treatments were discontinued and over the next several months his tumor grew in size, covering his whole hip -- to the point of breaking the skin and causing unending painful infections and he was eventually euthanized to end his suffering. At least the S-C Therapy slowed the growth down for the three weeks I was able to treat him on a daily basis and perhaps gave him a little more time here. At least I like to think so.

Nerve Sheath Tumor BEFORE S-C Therapy (9.7.16)
Bright pink, inflamed & skin taut
Nerve Sheath Tumor AFTER 3 weeks of just S-C Therapy (9.29.16)
Brown in color & no longer inflamed & tight, smaller in size

That was just the beginning of my practicing this ancient healing method. In addition to pets, I have been using S-C Therapy on myself, my husband, family members and friends with great and often amazing results.

Hydro Chromopathy

In addition to the colored lights, I provide Hydro Chromopathy to enhance the S-C Therapy. Hydro Chromopathy is where I have taken structured water, (not just any water!) and using the sunlight and the glass slides, I tonate a glass of the water, one for each of the colors and then store them in cobalt blue glass bottles so as to have every color available when needed. Each bottle of water is infused with the frequency and energy of a different color. As Masaru Emoto’s research has demonstrated, which he shares in The Hidden Messages of Water, along with numerous other books he wrote, water has memory. You not only get colored light but (energetically) colored water to drink with it!

The Experiment

What better way to be able to actually test the effects of S-C Therapy than to have someone who is super sensitive to energy and is also synesthetic tell me what they experience!  My Starseed friend is perfect, so we did an experiment. Find out what happened in Part 2.
