The 13 Rules of Life

Have you ever wished you had been given the rules to this game called Life? I know I have. In a recent Sunday lesson, Rev. Howard Caesar of Unity of Houston shared such a list. He came across this list of the rules of life and added three of his own, bringing it to a total of thirteen, my number. (insert happy face) The list is simple, yet so very profound and true:

  1.           You will receive a body.
  2.           You will be presented with lessons.
  3.           There are no mistakes only lessons.
  4.           A lesson is repeated until it is learned.
  5.           Learning does not end.
  6.           THERE is not better than HERE.
  7.           Others are mirrors to you.
  8.           What you make of your own life is up to you.
  9.           All your answers lie within you.
  10.           You will forget all of this.
  11.           God is love and so are you.
  12.           Life is meant to be good.
  13.           God is good all the time.

Superconsciousness

I came across this pretty amazing YouTube video that does a really good job of explaining meditation, Cosmic Energy,  the third eye, astral travel and more! I don't know anything about the person who made or posted this video but I thought it was great and the visuals are fantastic!  It's an hour long and well worth watching. Had to share!

The Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)

I came across this recently presented (June 2016) TEDx Talk called The Gentle Power of  Highly Sensitive People by Elena Herdieckerhoff.  I think she gives an excellent overview of HSPs and it's only 16 minutes long. I can totally relate to everything she said! It's nice to see more people bringing awareness to the inherent trait of 20% of the population and explaining what it is and what it is not.

Synesthesia

While I was in the midst of reading books and researching about Indigos, I discovered that the woman who created the label of Indigo around 1970, Nancy Tappe, is able to see auras and began seeing a new color -- indigo, around some children, calling them indigo children. Nancy also has Synesthesia, which is a rare condition of joined sensations in which an external stimulus is experienced by two (or occasionally more) senses simultaneously. This trait occurs in only about 1% of the population.

Synesthesia is a physical experience of the brain, not a product of the imagination. The condition is thought to be a genetic trait. It is not a disease, disorder or a medical condition. Trait is the most accurate description. There are many types of synesthesia but the most common form is a visual link between colors and letters of the alphabet, known as grapheme synesthesia. For example, someone with this form might always see the letter B as pink or Y as orange. People with this form can have difficulties with reading and math because of the additional visual input.

Another fairly common form is a cross between color and hearing perception. Those with this form experience colors with musical tones or keys. The music they hear has colors attached.

Nancy has a rarer synesthetic combination. Hers combines visual color and geometric taste. She sees a variety of colors around every living thing, and most foods have a geometrical shape attached to the regular flavor. For example, she says avocados have an additional pleasant sensation of circles, whereas macaroni and cheese is angular and sharp and actually causes physical pain. She has had these sensations her entire life and "wonders what the rest of the world sees or what food tastes like without having shapes attached to them." This is hard for the rest of us to imagine!

I also discovered that my Indigo friend has synesthesia. She has the form which combines colors and music. She says she always sees colors with music or tones. For her, trying to watch a video that has music playing while showing visual images of colors would be sensory overload. She sees her own color show to the music.

While I was researching synesthesia, I also discovered that my husband is a Mnemonist, which refers to an individual with the ability to remember and recall unusually long lists of data, such as unfamiliar names, lists of numbers, entries in books, etc. Over the years I have noticed he has an amazing ability to remember numbers, people's names and other things as well. Neither one of us was aware there was a label for it and he was not aware that the majority of people don't have this ability.

As we search for answers about ourselves along our own path of self discovery and self-realization, we in turn also help those around us discover and realize who they are. We are all -- each and everyone of us -- amazing beings!

For more information on synethesia, here's a YouTube video with Dr. David Eagleman of Baylor College of Medicine explaining this strange condition, and four synesthetes explaining how they perceive the world:

Here's a short YouTube documentary about synesthesia from a teenage synesthete herself:

Intention, Effort and Grace

...have the intent, put in the effort, and then grace will take over.

I was reading a recent question and answer session with Sri Bhagavan from the Oneness University in India, and he made this statement and it really struck a cord within me. It caused me to reflect upon my own life journey and I could see how my own life gives testimony to this statement.

I think I have always had the intent of finding out who I am and what I am doing here, though it got to be much more intense and focused when my sister died in 1986. My intent to find out why she left this plane of existence, where she was now, why I was still here, and who I really am, became very, very strong.

I put forth the effort. I searched for answers from all the outside sources I could find, such as reading every book I could get my hands on regarding these subjects, attending lectures, workshops, seminars and visiting psychics; eventually earning a master's degree in parapsychic science. I went to both individual and group therapy for the majority of my first twenty-five years of life, trying to figure out who I was.

Also, more importantly, I also went within. I began asking my higher self, my intuition questions; and then listening and paying attention to the guidance. I began praying and seeking out what I call soul food on a regular, more consistent basis. I took more time out to speak to God, my angels, guides and loved ones. I made an effort to spend more time meditating not only by myself, but with a group of like-minded people on a regular basis. I routinely seek out and receive Oneness Blessings and other energy type healing from all types of healers.

I put in the effort to change my habits and my diet into healthier ones; to treat my body more like the sacred temple it is.

And then, like Sri Bhagavan says, you realize you have done all you can possibly do and you can do nothing more, so you surrender -- you genuinely surrender to The Divine and ask God to please take over. He goes on to say "but as long as you can do something you have got to do it, you should not be looking for help. Only at the point where you say I cannot do, there you will have to pray and ask for help. Then the grace will definitely come." Grace will then take over. And it does. Grace came for me in 2013 which I wrote about here. So know that if you have the intent, and put forth the effort, then grace will take over.

Thrive, Passion and Solutions for a Thriving World

If you haven't seen the documentary Thrive by Kimberly and Foster Gamble yet, I highly recommend it. It is a real eye-opener. Great documentary. Close to a million people watch it every month. These are two people who are doing great things for humanity and the earth. They are a power house of information and resources.

You can watch it for free on their website by going to:

Just recently they both shared a video of their talks given at the Architects of the New Paradigm Conference. Kimberly's inspiring talk is Why Does Your Passion Matter? My indigo friend and I, being very passionate people, really appreciated what she had to say and I think you will to.

You can watch it here:  http://www.thrivemovement.com/why-does-your-passion-matter.blog

Foster's talk about Solutions for a Thriving World is one you don't want to miss either. Wait until you hear what happened as a result of their documentary coming out and some of the things that are being created! It is so exciting! Foster covers it all and then some. You won't want to miss his inspiring talk either. (Notice on the subject of water he mentions a chemical-free torus vortex device for purifying a polluted pond, which sounds exactly like a structured water device!)
